As expected, on Friday regulators at the Department of Justice agreed to let the juggernaut T-Mobile/Sprint deal go through after the companies agreed to sell off pieces to Dish. Apparently Dish was not the only option on the table recently when it came for T-Mobile and Sprint to find a buyer for Boost Mobile and other assets they would divest to gain approval for their deal. Reuters has reported that Charter Communications also submitted a proposal to the DoJ as well. [Read more →]

According to reports out this morning, there is a new deal on the table to let T-Mobile and Sprint Merge while keeping a fourth mobile operator in the market. Dish Network has agreed to a $5B deal under which it would buy wireless assets from the two companies. [Read more →]

In a bit of follow-on data center M&A news, Agile Data Sites today announced a partnership with Lincoln Rackhouse. Lincoln Rackhouse just acquired ByteGrid back in May, adding data centers in the Seattle, Chicago, and DC metro areas to its portfolio. CenturyLink formally announced today something I’ve been hearing about through other channels for a few months. They are, at long last, pulling lots of new fiber through all those extra conduits, effectively putting a new intercity fiber network in place for a tiny fraction of what it would cost to dig.
