Three network expansion projects and some data center funding: Arelion and Telxius are working together down in Florida. Arelion is establishing PoPs at Telxius landing stations in both Boca Raton and Florida, from which they will be able to offer 400G wavelengths and other services. Telxius’ facility in Boca Raton is the endpoint for SAm-1 and the upcoming Tikal cable, and their Jacksonville connects to PCCS, giving Arelion greater reach down into South and Central America.
Cologix has a new fiber tenant at its MTL3 data center in Montreal, Canada. Crosslake Fibre is extending its network into the edge facility. Crosslake is building a new fiber route between Toronto and Montreal that is expected to be ready this year sometime. Their flagship fiber route under Lake Ontario already has an endpoint at Cologix’s 151 Front Street facility in Toronto, and their expansion to Montreal offered a chance to further that relationship.
Fastwyre has offered an update on its FTTH plans in eastern Nebraska, an area they have long had a more traditional presence as Huntel. The company says it is investing $65M in the region, bringing 2Gbps with a path to 10Gbps to residences starting in Bellevue, Blair, and Wayne. The network upgrades are expected to be ready in other communities in the region this summer.
And Aligned Data Centers has lined up some new financing to help with its latest expansion project in West Jordan UT. Blackstone Credit & Insurance has provided $600M in the form of a senior secured credit facility from insurance accounts managed by BXCI’s Infrastructure & Asset Based Credit Group. That will go a long way toward the buildout of SLC-03, which will be two-stories high and support 80MW of build-to-suit hyperscale space alongside two existing locations on the campus.
