March 11th, 2024 by · Leave a Comment

Several vendor items and infrastructure for a major sports event:

Ciena is helping the SEA_ME_WE 4 consortium with a major upgrade based on their GeoMesh Extreme technology. The subsea cable system’s total capacity is being increased from 65Tbps to 122Tbps. SEA-ME_WE 4 connects Singapore with Marseille by way of India and the Middle East, with plenty of stops along the way.

Aryaka is taking its SASE portfolio to another level. They have launched a Unified SASE as a Service offering, aiming to improve security and performance while reducing complexity. They are looking to enable channel partners to serve business customers more flexibly from within a unified overall technology portfolio.

Nokia’s PON technology will be getting a workout in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey. Service Electric Cablevision will be using their gear to deploy 10G and eventually 25G on their FTTH footprint. More specifically, SECV will deploy Nokia’s MF-14, MF-2, and SF-8M optical line terminals.

And Comcast Business will be supplying a range of service to THE PLAYERS Championship. The golf tournament will have a private wireless network, multiple 10G circuits, advance WiFi, and other infrastructure in place to support both golf fans on the course and the PGA Tour’s various online coverage components.
