Friday Bytes: Colt DCS, Sabey, Eclarion, iBasis, DE-CIX

Some data center, fixed wireless, and IX news to end the week. 

Colt DCS has revealed plans to build a new data center in southern India. The hyperscale facility will be in Ambattur, Chennai and will be Colt DCS’s 18th facility globally. The plans call for 70MW of IT capacity and a delivery date in 2027. Colt already expanded to Mumbai previously.

Sabey Data Centers has had two items of interesting partner news. The cloud computing platform Vultr is expanding its presence at SDC Columbia, where they will be deploying clusters based on NVIDEA HGX H100 GPU Clusters. And Sabey has announced a partnership with the containerized data center solution company Eclarion, which operates a data center over in Paris, France. The two companies have a mutual referral agreement, giving each the ability to access a wider global footprint.

iBasis is taking to the air with a new multi-operator fixed wireless access (FWA). By leveraging eSIM technology, they are able to tap into the strongest cellular signal at a given address rather than depend on a single network’s coverage map. iBasis, which is part of Tofane Global, is looking to tap into even more of FWA’s growth potential.

And DE-CIX is taking its partner programs to the enterprise by bringing in manage service providers, technology suppliers, strategists and advisors, systems integrators, and telecom service brokers. The move beyond wholesale and into the enterprise-facing channel is being driven by the extra connectivity needs of AI, cloud, and IoT technologies that enterprises are using more and more of.
