IPI, STACK to Acquire Safe Host

May 25th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

Some data center infrastructure is changing hands over in Europe. IPI Partners announced yesterday that it has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Safe Host SA from StepStone Group. The plan is to incoporate Safe Host into STACK Infrastructure, IPI’s growing platform for data center infrastructure.

Safe Host operates four data centers in Switzerland — 5,000 square meters in Geneva, 14,400sqm in Gland, 2,400sqm in Avenches, and an 8,000sqm build-to-suit site in Zurich. They also own land in other European markets that can be used for future expansion.

STACK first expanded its footprint into Europe via IPI’s purchases of Digiplex in the Nordics and SUPERNAP Italia in Milan. The new Swiss assets seem like a logical extension of that existing consolidation plan. Further M&A activity seems likely to further supplement the company’s European reach.
