euNetworks Saw Higher Churn, Rising Margins in Q2

Carlos Slim Makes His Move, Bids For KPN

A few weeks after exiting the shareholder relationship with KPN that had maintained the past year’s status quo, America Movil and Carlos Slim have made their move and bid for the whole of the Dutch incumbent. For the 70% they don’t already own, America Movil is offering €2.40 per share or some €7.2B, which adds a 20% or so premium onto the stock price as of yesterday’s close. [Read more →]

Cogent Increments Its Dividend Again

Like tw telecom, Cogent Communications (NASDAQ:CCOI, news, filings) has been finding ways to return cash to shareholders, but unlike them they have been taking the dividend route and boosting the amount every quarter.  They continued on with that game plan for Q2 as they posted another quarter of forward progress.  Revenues and EPS were up sequentially but a bit below projections this time, while both margins and EBITDA were higher than anticipated.  Their numbers in some context: [Read more →]

tw telecom Powers Ahead, Recharges Its Buyback Plan

NTT to Buy Arkadin, Boosting Collaboration Presence

Lightower Endorses Sidera’s Southern Push, Details 1500 Mile Expansion

During the quarters before the merger between Lightower Fiber Networks and Sidera Networks was announced, both companies had been looking to the south for expansion opportunities.
