Tofane Global Boosts Its IoT With Simfony Buy

February 17th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

There was an interesting inorganic move over in Europe yesterday. Tofane Global has announced the acquisition of Simfony, a provider of IoT platform-as-a-service technology.

Simfony specializes in the management of embedded SIMs, enabling a range of tasks from ordering and provisioning to lifecycle control and trouble ticketing, all the way to billing and profitability. They have offered a whitelabel service for that platform to IoT MVNOs.

Tofane Global will pair those capabilities with the company’s existing iBASIS IoT Connectivity offering. They also get some R&D capabilities in Romania while adding operations talent in the Netherlands.

Tofane Global has been relatively quiet after its quick roll-up of five wholesale international VoIP carrier businesses through mid 2020. The purchase of Simfony reflects the company’s desire to increase its exposure to growing nextgen technologies that came along with those purchases, such as iBASIS’s IoT segment.
