FirstLight Strikes Again, Buys TruePath

June 9th, 2020 by · Leave a Comment

Despite the chaos everywhere else in the world today, FirstLight Fiber has been actively tucking in assets and companies. Today the northeastern network operator announced an agreement to acquire TruePath Technologies.

TruePath’s main focus is a cloud-based managed monitoring software system that configures and maintains their customers’ monitoring software remotely. FirstLight has been using that technology itself for some time, and by acquiring the company they will enhance their managed services portfolio.

Over the last few weeks, FirstLight has also bought some intercity fiber from DFT out in western New York State and acquired BestWeb for some metro depth along the Hudson River north of NYC. None of their deals look terribly difficult to integrate, so it’s probable that the company is still on the hunt.
