Cisco’s Layoffs ‘Only’ 5500

So the rumors of layoffs at Cisco were right, but the number was pretty far off. Cisco reported its fiscal Q4 quarterly earnings yesterday, posting revenues of $12.6B and non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.63. Both numbers were slightly better than expected, although the company’s stock price fell a bit in reponse in after hours trading. [Read more →]
A Lightower Sale Rumor?

Late yesterday someone pointed me to a rumor that originated at CTFN and was bubbling through some alternative news sites, asking if there was any truth to it. Lumos Networks’ Fiber Investments Shined in Q2

Lumos Networks has been investing in its fiber network at a rapid pace over the last few years, but we’ve had to wait quite a while to start to really see the effects show up in top line growth. They started to shine through a bit in today’s Q2 results though. Overall revenues moved past analyst expectations to $52.4M, while earnings per share checked in several pennies to the good at $0.05.
