Three items from southern Europe and one from southern Asia:

Sparkle has launched some SASE technology within its enterprise solutions portfolio. The new capabilities will complement Sparkle’s SD-WAN offerings in the enterprise market.  Called SASE Connect, the solution combines cloud-based security and network services to protect a corporate network across today’s range of branch offices, remote workers, IoT devices, and applications.

OTEGLOBE has tapped Cisco to help upgrade its European network. The international wholesale arm of Greece-based OTE Group will be leveraging Cisco’s 8800 series routes and supporting software and other technologies. The project took six months and boosts OTEGLOBE’s backbone from 100G to 400G with a path toward 800G.

Colt as found some room to expand its network reach in northern Italy. They have extended their IQ Network infrastructure between Rome and Genova, a city along the northwestern Italian coast in the province of Liguria. Colt is looking to better serve businesses and other customer in the region. However, Genova is also, not coincidentally, an endpoint of the new 2Africa subsea cable.

And Global Cloud Xchange has been awarded an International Long Distance license in India. Following its separation from Reliance Communications, GCX has to handle its Indian presence separately as well, and so this is a key regulatory step. It will enable GCX to add telephony services to the portfolio it is able to serve Indian customers with.
