Two regional fiber buildouts, some financial network infrastructure, and a bit of FTTx:
Ziply Fiber had two updates this week on the company’s infrastructure expansion. The northwestern fiber operator has completed a new redundant fiber ring in the city of Quincy in central Washington. They are looking to meet demand for AI workloads in the region. Meanwhile, back in the Seattle metro area, Ziply has brought Csquare’s Lynnwood data center campus on-net. Lynnwood is about 15 miles north of Seattle proper along I-5.
In the financial networking world, IPC is preparing for a migration of Singapore’s SGX exchange. SGX is relocating its primary infrastructure in support of future growth and performance requirements. IPC’s infrstructure for SGX connects multiple PoPs including one ultra-low latency PoP, and has now established connectivity to the new location.
And in Finland, InCoax says it is gaining traction in support of fiber rollouts into regional markets. Specifically they are helping Fibernet Finland extend its infrastructure into 150 more apartment buildings in the country. Finland already has fiber available to 80% of households, but there are still places where the work must still be done.
