Monday Roundup: FLAG, Dartpoints, Comcast

Some subsea fiber, a bit of data center consolidation, and some last mile fiber:

FLAG is back with a new subsea cable route connecting India with southeast Asia. The privately owned subsea cable operator has launched a new path between Chennai and Singapore, adding diversity on a key area of global infrastructure. It complements last year’s launch of connectivity between Mumbai and Singapore, and will complement FLAG’s ECHO subsea cable system.

DartPoints has made an inorganic move into Kentucky. They have acquired a data center campus in Lexington, adding 343,000 square feet of space and an on-site substation on 29.5 acres of land. Some 81,000 square feet of raised floor data center space is in place, DartPoints says it has a path to 20-30MW in an initial power expansion. In the longer term they see potential to expand that to 70MW.

And in some last mile fiber news, Comcast is building out its fiber reach in central Pennsylvania, specifically the Susquehanna River Valley. They plan to connect 16K homes and businesses in Milton, Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, Buffalo Valley, Northumberland Borough, and Point township. The project should be completed in 2028. Comcast Business will also be able to leverage the buildout to serve businesses across the region.
