Some waves, some fiber, and some research:

Zayo has expanded its lit infrastructure over in Europe. Leveraging Ciena’s WaveLogic 5 technology, Zayo has unveiled a Waves on Demand service which supplies dedicated 400G wavelengths with a 5 working day window. As you might expect, the capability is available on the usual core FLAP routes, but also to Bordeaux and Dusseldorf with the intention to expand to Dublin, Manchester, and Milan later this year.

Cologix has a new fiber option at its SV1 data center in Santa Clara CA. Bandwidth IG has extended its dark fiber footprint into the facility as part of a new strategic partnership. Bandwidth IG’s footprint in the SF Bay area is now 310 route miles and hits 65 data centers. Cologix’s SV1 facility has 84,000 square feet on 5 acres with 15 unique network tenants.

And Nokia Bell Labs says it has been selected to become part of NATO’s DIANA. DIANA stands for Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic and focuses on supporting dual-use technological development. Nokia Bell Labs Budapest in Hungary will help them as an innovation hub focused on next generation capabilities such as 6G, quantum security, AI/ML, etc.
