Two data center projects, some subsea news, and a network expansion:
Mitsubishi and Digital Realty are working together in Dallas TX. They have set up a new JV which will be developing two data centers there, with phase 1 delivering 16 MW of capacity. Mitsubishi is investing $200M for a 65% stake, while Digital Realty will hold 35% and manage the buildout and operations. The customer has options that could double the budget and deliver up to 48MW.
AtlasEdge has acquired its way into the Austrian capital of Vienna. They have bought a site on the Siemens Campus in Vienna-Floridsdorf with an existing anchor tenant. They plan to upgrade the site to 10MW of capacity over the next two years. Along with their recent launch in Hamburg, AtlasEdge now has a presence in 19 European metro areas.
MainOne has reached another milestone in the development of the 2Africa submarine cable system. They have brought the cable ashore in Qua Iboe, Akwa Ibom State on the southwestern coast of Nigeria. They plan a terrestrial metro fiber network in the area to help with both the backhaul and connectivity for enterprises in the region.
And Hurricane Electric has found another key destination to add to its network. They have deployed a new PoP in Atlanta within Coloblox ATL1 at 1100 Circle 72 Pkway SE. It’s their 7th PoP in the Atlanta metro area, adding further reach to the company’s IPv4/IPv6 network.
