Monday Roundup: EdgeCore, American Tower, Neos Networks, Lumen

A couple of financial transactions, a promotion, and a platform upgrade:

EdgeCore has completed a significant balance sheet move. They have raised $1.9B in debt which will fund scalable development on its campus in Mesa AZ. At full buildout they have some 450MW and 3.1M+ square feet of space planned in Mesa, with one facility already operational and two more under construction that will make up less than half of that. EdgeCore says it’s the company’s first ‘Green Loan’, and is comprised of a limited-recourse senior secured loan, a revolving senior secured letter of credit facility, and an accordion feature.

American Tower will be selling off its Indian assets to Brookfield Asset Management, following a strategic review. The deal will give American Tower a cash windfall of INR210B, or about $2.5B. The assets will be folded into Brookfield’s Data Infrastructure Trust, which owns other tower assets in India via Summit Digitel and Crest Digitel. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2024.

Lumen has boosted its management team with an internal promotion. Ashley Haynes-Gaspar has been named Chief Revenue Officer, moving her up from the position of EVP – Customer Experience Officer, Wholesale and International. Haynes-Gaspar will focus on accelerating the comany’s growth and profitability.  That’s no small task in this industry, of course, so she’ll have her work cut out for her. 

And over in the UK Neos Networks has upgraded its managed dedicated internet access capabilities. The boost from 1Gbps to 10Gbps will enable them to address the needs of enterprises, matching their Wires-only DIA service with a managed option. Neos has 676 Ethernet PoPs across the country.
