Several interesting items to catch up with:
Gateway Fiber’s expansion in Minnesota has come online in the towns of Blaine and Coon Rapids to the north of Minneapolis. The regional provider has turned up FTTH services to its first residential customers in the area, with plans to expand throughout the MetroNorth area. Gateway began the buildout in September, expanding beyond their Missouri roots for the first time.
Juniper and NEC are helping Telenor’s DNA with its data center infrastructure. The Finnish communications service provider is leveraging Juniper’s Apstra automation software and QFX Series Switches alongside NEC’s systems integration expertise. That will give DNA intent-based networking in support of streamlined operations, which the company hopes will enable new services.
Green Mountain Data Centers is breaking ground on a new data center expansion near London in the UK. The Norwegian-based data center provider acquired the former Infinity SDC location earlier this year, and renamed it as LON1-East. The plans call for 3 new data halls supporting 7MW of IT load within the existing building, with three more to follow. An adjacent plot of land is also available. The site is in Romford in east London.
