Four bits of expansion project news, two international and two domestic:

Vantage Data Centers is moving into a new APAC market. The global hyperscale data center provider has plans to open its first facility in Taiwan. TPE1 will add 215,000 square feet and 16MW of power in Taipei. The data center will be 5 stories on just 2 acres of land, just over a half hour from the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

US Signal has made an inorganic move to expand its data center footprint in the Midwest. They have acquired a 9,600sqft, 2MW facility at 6325 Morenci Trail in Indianapolis IN. After upgrading it will hold some 300 cabinets and support US Signal’s Cloud Pod solution. Several miles of new fiber will be added and plans call for adding additional cabinets on the site as demand requires.

UTOPIA Fiber says it has completed its FTTH expansion in Syracuse UT. Sitting along the eastern shore of the Great Salt Lake, Syracuse is UTOPIA’s 17th market. UTOPIA says it already has a 15.61% penetration rate with the 12K or so homes they pass. The buildout cost $23.5M.

And Arelion has added another PoP to its footprint in southwestern Europe. They have moved into Equinix’s LS1 facility in Lisbon, Portugal. From the hub that is growing around the new subsea cable systems landing nearby like Equiano and EllaLink, Arelion will offer on-ramps to infrastructure stretching to every corner of Europe. Arelion says it has added 17 PoPs this year, with another 12 in process.
