Tuesday Bytes: Telcom Group, Vexus, Vantage

Some M&A, an upgrade, and a major expansion completed:

There was a bit of last mile consolidation over in the UK today. The fiber operator Telcom Group has announced the acquisition of Luminet, a fixed wireless provider based in London. The deal brings Telcom into London itself in force, adding over 1,000 business customers in the metro area, as well as giving them a fixed wireless dimension. Backed by Gresham House, Telcom Group has built out metro footprints in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Birmingham.

Vexus Fiber says it has completed an expansion of its capacity across the states of Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. They can now provide 10Gbps symmetrical across their footprint folling a $2.5M investment made this past summer. That level of connectivity is targeted at business customers, with residential getting the usual 1Gbps offer for now. Vexus is backed by KKR and Oak Hill Capital.

And last week Vantage polished off a project up the Pacific Northwest. They have officially opened their third facility on the WA1 campus in Quincy WA. WA13 adds 64MW and 530,000 square feet of capacity to their portfolio, giving them 89 MW and 775,000 square feet total. Vantage has put some $1B into the campus over the past decade.
