Thursday Roundup: Toptana, LOGIX, Ciena, euNetworks, FirstLight

A new CLS, a technology deployment, a channel partner, and a buildout update:

The Pacific Northwest may soon have a new subsea cable landing station in place to add diversity to the region’s fiber ecosystem. The Quinault Indian Nation has launched Toptana Technologies, which will build a new CLS in its territory along the coast of Washington. There are also plans for backhaul links to both Seattle and Hillsboro, Oregon. The CLS will initially support 4 subsea cables, infrastructure Toptana will now look to attract.

LOGIX Fiber Networks is putting Ciena’s optical tech to work down in Texas. They are leveraging Ciena’s 6500 flexible optical platform and supporting services to power 10G and 100G services to enterprise and carrier customers in the DASH market area. LOGIX’s footprint spans 7,000 route miles, 100 data centers, and some 10K business customers.

euNetworks has expanded its channel ecosystem in western Europe. They have entered into a Master Agent Partner Agreement with AAA Sales & Management GmbH, a Swiss telecom consulting firm. AAA will be able to directly leverage euNetworks’ infrastructure when working with its consulting clients. euNetworks footprint connects some 490+ data centers, 15 of which are located in Switzerland.

And FirstLight says that it will finish the year with more than 1700 route miles of new fiber in the state of New York. They have built 1,280 route miles so far, and plan to have another 480 route miles completed by the end of the year. FirstLight’s origins are from Albany-based Tech Valley Communications of course. The company has also been busy building out a new footprint across Pennsylvania over the past two years.
