Infinera Wins Deals with Angola Cables, Algar Telecom

October 18th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

Infinera announced two customer wins so far this week, with subsea deals helping two consortium partners on the same cable system to better connect North and South America.

Angola Cables will be using Infinera’s ICE6 technology to upgrade its infrastructure between Miami and São Paulo. Angola Cables operates its own SACS subsea cable between South America and Africa, and leverages the Monet Cable to reach up to North America. Arsitec helped facilitate the deployment.

Meanwhile, Algar Telecom will also be using Infinera’s ICE6 on the Monet Cable System, on which it is a consortium partner. They are leveraging the ICE6 800G optical engine, GX Series Compact Modular Platform, and FlexILS Open Optical Line System. Algar Telecom operates a B2B fiber footprint that touches 372 cities across Brazil.
