Three infrastructure projects from three parts of the world and three sectors of the industry:

Web Werks and Iron Mountain have announced additional expansion plans over in India. They will be spending Rs.197 crores to construct a facility in Noida outside of Dehli. The new facility will have 20 MVA gross power capacity and will go live in 2023. It will be part of the government’s broader plans for edge infrastructure in the province of Uttar Padesh. Web Werks also has projects ongoing in Bangalore and Chennai.

Italy will be getting some new subsea infrastructure. Infratel Italia has tapped Elettra, a subsidiary of Orange Marine, to fulfill its Piano Isole Minori plan to connect 21 Italian islands via 860km of fiber. Elettra’s survey vessel Urbano Monti will begin the survey work this year, with C/S Teliri handling the installation in 2023.

AMS-IX and Quanza are working together to upgrade the IX’s switching platform. AMS-IX will be implementing Juniper’s MX routing platform, enabling 400G ports and generally supporting the next generation of automation. Quanza will be in charge of platform delivery and 24/7 monitoring, expanding upon a relationship with AMS-IX that has been in place for seven years.
