DataBank Buys Four From CyrusOne

January 20th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

A significant amount of data centers will be changing hands down in Texas. Yesterday DataBank made another inorganic move and agreed to purchase four facilities in the Houston metro area from CyrusOne.

For the price of $670M, DataBank will be acquiring some 300,000 square feet and 42.5MW of critical IT load. One is the CyrusOne Galleria data center at 4201 Southwest Freeway, while the other three are the West I, II, and III facilities 20 minutes west of downtown Houston on the Westway Park Blvd campus.

The move adds Houston to DataBank’s reach for the first time, giving them 65 facilities total now. TD Securities and CIT provided the debt financing for the transaction, while Jones Day served as legal advisor. The deal is expected to close later this quarter.

DataBank continues to find new acquisition targets for inorganic expansion, the largest of which was its purchase of zColo from Zayo in late 2020.  We had DataBank CEO Raul Martynek here for an Industry Spotlight Q&A last year.
