Three network expansion projects and a portfolio expansion.
Comcast Business has finished up work on an expansion down in Virginia. They have added fiber infrastructure that will let them serve 2,800 more businesses across the state. The buildout focused on Bell Creek, Harrisonburg, Hernico, Richmond, Ashburn, Dulles, Leesburg, Lynchburg, Manassas, Sterling, and Tyson’s corner. Comcast Business says it has put $100M into expansion projects in Virginia in the past 5 years.
TPx has enhanced its managed services portfolio. They are now offering MSx Managed Firewall services combined with SD-WAN and other technologies from Fortinet. The integrated solution is billed as an affordable and secure alternative for enterprises looking to reduce exposure to cyberattacks and malware while keeping productivity high.
1623 Farnam has extended its edge interconnection reach over to Lincoln, Nebraska. They have added dedicated connectivity into Bluestem Network’s new interconnected facility there via a 10Gbps all-fiber tether. The arrangement enables tenants there to access interconnection opportunities in Omaha, including Omaha IX.
And Hurricane Electric has hooked up another new PoP in the southwestern US. They have extended their network into H5 Data Centers’ facility at 2600 W Germann Rd in Chandler, Arizona. H5’s facility offers 180K square feet of space and 30MW of power to the Phoenix metro area. It’s the company’s seventh PoP within H5’s footprint nationwide, clearly building further upon an existing relationship.
