Friday Bytes: Ascenty, DataBank, Hurricane Electric

July 19th, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Three more small items worth noting before you head home for the weekend:

Ascenty has opened four new fully-leased data centers in and around Sao Paolo, Brazil. Added together the move brings another 24MW of capacity to the company’s portfolio. Along with the two others they are launching later this quarter, their total will reach 17. Ascenty is a JV between Digital Realty and Brookfield Infrastructure.

DataBank has completed the buildout of more data center space in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They have expanded the PIT1 edge facility, making another 10,500 square feet of raised floor space ready for service. Between that and the new PIT2 facility in North Fayette, DataBank has put $50M into Pittsburgh lately.

And Hurricane Electric has found another data center to hook up over in the UK. They have added a PoP in Pulsant’s South Gyle facility in Edinburgh. It is their first location in Scotland and their 11th in the UK overall.
