Windstream Launches SIEM

February 12th, 2019 by · 2 Comments

Security concerns are never far from the surface in today’s networks, and Windstream today moved to make it easier for enterprise customers to stay on top of it all. They have now added SIEM, short for Security Information and Event Management, services to the company’s portfolio.

Windstream is bundling that new SIEM-as-a-service capability with both its cloud-based and CPE-based solutions, complementing the company’s SD-WAN and managed router efforts. Following the Earthlink and Broadview deals, Windstream has sought to further carve out a niche with the the mid-sized enterprise marketplace. Enterprises in this segment are generally large enough to need security but not large enough to do it in-house.

By adding SIEM, Windstream enables such customers to monitor and log threats to their server infrastructure on their own terms. In the future, Windstream might extend these capabilities as a standalone service, but for now it’s an enhancement to the company’s existing portfolio.
