Three interesting partnerships worth noting in recent days, one for subsea cables, one for cloud interconnection, and one for optical vendors:
TI Sparkle and SAEx International have teamed up to provide a new route connecting South Africa to New Jersey. SAEx’s cable will cross the South Atlantic from Africa to Brazil, while Sparkle operates three fiber pairs on the Seabras-1 cable system from Brazil up to the New Jersey shoreline. Sparkle will also be providing interconnection in Brazil as well as tech and sales support on both ends in the Americas.
Epsilon has added a new cloud provider to its ecosystem. The Alibaba Cloud is now hooked up directly to Epsilon’s Infiny interconnection platform. Alibaba, China’s biggest cloud provider, joins the usual suspects of AWS. Azure, and Google Cloud there, available for on-demand private connectivity to the global business community.
Integra Optics has a new strategic partner. Legrand will be selling the optical component vendor’s transceivers and other gear, broadening the portfolio it takes to market. Legrand specializes in electrical and digital building infrastructure, with $6.2B in revenues last year and an especially large presence in North and Central America.
