Equinix Launches AM4

July 5th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Equinix’s presence in the Netherlands is that much bigger this morning.  The global data center operator has launched its latest facility in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam.

The first phase of Equinix’s AM4 facility cost $113M and adds some 1,555 cabinets to the company’s European footprint.  When fully built out, it will have cost $189M and add a total of 4,200 cabinets spanning more than 125,000 square feet.

It’s the tall, shiny, glass-encased building within the Science Park Amsterdam next to AM3, stretching 12 floors and 230 feet up.  As with everything in Amsterdam, the interconnection ecosystem will be robust from the start.
