Vendor Roundup: Infinera, XKL, MRV

June 7th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Here are a few quick looks at some news from optical vendors this week:

Infinera kicked off the week by formally announcing the general availability of its new DCI solution. The Cloud Xpress 2 has already been deployed by several big content players, and is the first live deployment of the company’s nextgen Infinite Capacity Engine technology. I expect we’ll be hearing about others before too long.

XKL has expanded its eVolocity platform, adding DWDM and lit service handoffs across the same interface. As usual for XKL, the solution is targeted at enterprises, aiming to give them the tools to take advantage of dark fiber without the complexity that often comes along with it.

And MRV has added 200G to the mix. They have introduced new 200G coherent digital muxponders to the OptiDriver WDM its optical transport portfolio. The solutions are optimized for the DCI market as well as for general telecom applications.
