Sohonet Taps euNetworks For More Fiber

July 16th, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Over in the UK, Sohonet is adding to its network footprint in London with some help from euNetworks.   euNetworks said today that it has expanded its relationship with the media network specialist, helping with the buildout of Sohonet’s rapidly expanding reach.

london-networkThe deal will see euNetworks’ metro fiber network extended to no less than 50 of Sohonet’s client sites in the Soho and Chiswick Park area of London. Additionally, there will be a new core infrastructure ring hooking up all the media network’s main PoPs in the city.

The two have been working together since 2011.  As two independent operators in one of the world’s largest markets, Sohonet and euNetworks do seem like ideal partners. They might even look good as a merged entity at some point, who knows. At least in the case of euNetworks, I figure there will be some M&A action sooner or later this year.  Fiber is becoming a bigger and bigger piece of the puzzle for media networks.
