WiMAX operator clwr has expanded its coverage again, this time into central Pennsylvania. Now formally under the WiMAX umbrella are the cities of Harrisburg, Lancaster, Reading, and York. Clearwire's largest shareholder Sprint followed up with an immediate move into the territory, playing up both its Overdrive 3G/4G dongle and the promised release of the HTC EVO 4G later this year. I just wish we knew what they mean by 'later'.
New markets still expected to come online this year for both Clearwire and Sprint include Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, St. Louis and Washington, D.C. No doubt there will be some smaller satellite markets like todays as well.
