Three data center bytes and one bit of fiber M&A news:

atNorth has a new data center project planned for Finland. The Nordic data center provider says FIN05 will be located in the city of Salo in the southwestern interior of the country. They have a 28.6 hectare site and 75MW lined up for the first phase. Future expansion would take the site up to 230MW. The price tag for atNorth will be about €2B.

There is a huge new data center project in the works for southern Scotland. CX Tech is looking to repurpose the Chapelcross nuclear site into a £16.5 billion datacentre campus. The proposal calls for 8 buildings of 120MW each and cover 162,000 data center floorspace. Chapelcross was Scotland’s first commercial nuclear power station and operated from 1959 through 2024.

Sabey Data Center Properties is preparing for its own expansion projects in the US. They have raised additional funding from Ares Secondaries funds, which is boosting its minority equity investment above $500M. SDCP operates some 275MW of data center capacity today, with an expansion pipeline that could reach 737MW by 2033. SDCP is a joint venture between Sabey Corporation and National Real Estate Advisors.

And back on the fiber ront, Rightfiber has completed its deal for Fastwyre Broadband’s Nebraska business. Rightfiber is the newly assembled combination of Great Plains Communications and Ritter Communications, all of which are of course owned by Grain Management. This additional transaction adds to their Nebraska flast mile footprint, giving the company’s footprint 28,000 route miles of fiber and 300K FTTH passings.
