Two inetwork infrastructure deployments and a bit of M&A:
Boldyn Networks has hooked up some more event goers, this time in Northern Ireland. They have deployed a neutral-host DAS system at The O2 Belfast, supporting both event operations and the fan experience. The O2 Belfast is an indoor arena supporting ice hockey among plenty of other things. Unsurprisingly, customers of the carrier O2 are the first to benefit from the deployement.
Ciena’s optical technology will be getting a workout in the Middle East. E& UAE is deploying their gear and supporting software for a next generation DWDM network in response to surging traffic demand. No details were given as to where they are actually deploying such things, but given the regional, ummm, weather these days it’s just good to hear that they’re able to build things out at all.
And there was a bit of consolidation in the OSP services space in the US. Circet Americas has announced the acquisition of Sunrise Telecom, boosting its geographic reach. The deal follows Circet’s other purchases of Blue Streak, CCU, and SourceOne as the company adds muscle and talent, not to mention a few brands.
