A partnership expansion, some intercity momentum, and a bit of M&A:
DE-CIX and Digital Realty are ramping up their joint footprint in the US. The deal will bring access to DE-CIX’s services to 22 additional Digital Realty facilities via the latter’s Metro Connect service. The facilities are spread across the ky markets of Chicago, Dallas, New York, and Phoenix. It’s an expansion of a longtime arrangement that now reaches 16 metros and 11 countries around the world.
Arelion says its recent expansion in the Baltics is bearing fruit. They have picked up several new enterprises and wholesale customers for some multi-terabit capacity between Helsinki and Warsaw. The expansion launched a year ago, forming a resilient, diverse ring among Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
And there was a bit of interesting M&A over in the voice sector late last week. Transaction Network Services has announced the acquisition of netnumber. The deal adds to TNS’s broader portfolio enabling communication service providers’ voice infrastructure via expertise in global number intelligence, portability, routing and digital identity verification. We had netnumber’s Steve Legge here for a Q&A a few years back.
