Wednesday Roundup: Salute, T5, DE-CIX, LSC, GNM, NetIX

Some news from around the industry:

There was a bit of M&A in the data center services business. Salute has entered into an agreement to acquire T5 Operations from T5 Data Centers. The deal will expand Salute’s faclity management, Operations, and commissioning portfolio, giving them more than 15GW of data center capacity under management and a headcount above 3800. Meanwhile, another slice of T5 Services, T5 Construction, will be spun off as EverOn Data Center Services.

DE-CIX has expanded its AI connectivity in a new deal with Microsoft Azure. They have implemented georedundant connectivity, adding a dual-homed architecture in New York, Frankfurt, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Singapore. Additional locations are expected to follow. DE-CIX says it now operates 29 on-ramps to Azure in 24 markets worldwide.

Light Source Communications says it has a second hyperscale tenant for its longhaul buildout in the Midwest. They are working on a dark fiber route between Tulsa OK and St. Louis MO. That’s 500 miles of underground infrastructure and 8 in-line amplifier sites. The actual tenant’s identity was not revealed. LSC also has hyperscaler-backed projects connecting Tulsa to Amarillo and in the Indianapolis metro area.

GNM has expanded its global network footprint with a new PoP in the Big Apple. They have gone live at Digital Realty’s 60 Hudson Street location, complementing the company’s presence in Equinix facilities in Ashburn and Miami.

And NetIX has expanded its APAC reach with a deal with the Singapore Internet Exchange. NetIX’s Global Internet Exchange has added SGIX to its platform via a new 100G connection. That enables NetIX customers to access SGIX’s ecosystem access either directly via GIX or through remote peering.
