Two bits of M&A and a minority stake:

There was a bit of M&A from the vendor side of things late last week. Infoblox has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Kentik. The deal adds Kentik’s network observability and network intelligence to their broader visibility and network service portfolio. The idea seems to be to bring together more information sources that AI can leverage when it comes to managing network assets, enabling an acceleration of AI-driven network operations.

Sabey Data Centers has gained a new minority equity investors. Ares has purchased a stake in Sabey Data Center Properties for its Ares Secondary funds. SDCP’s platform has 6 campuses and 251MW of operating capacity, and foresees tripling that output over the next 10 years on the same land. The additional resources will enable Sabey to accelerate those plans.

And some fiber is trading hands out in southern California. Intrepid Fiber Networks is has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Ubiquity’s fiber footprint in San Diego County. More specifically, the assets pass 35K homes and businesses in the municipalities of Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Oceanside. Intrepid is already working in Corona, Riverside, Vista, and San Marcos. The combined assets will reach some 100K in the county.
