A few items to catch up with:

Wyyerd Fiber continues to expand its network capabilities in the state of Arizona. They have upgraded their infrastructure to 8Gbps in the Greater Phoenix Area. While they are currently building out feverishly further south near Tucson, the company’s first lit regions were near Phoenix. And those have now gotten their upgrade in place.

Colt Data Center Services has been busy cutting its greenhouse gas emissions in recent year, and recently offered an update on its progress. The company says it has reduced emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 by 27% since 2019. That includes sourcing its power using renewable energy certificates in addition to transforming their own design, development, and operations. Colt DCS operates 15 facilities in 9 cities, with another 12 in development.

Extreme Networks has teamed up with MatSing to deliver connectivity in large venues like stadiums. They have added multi-beam Wi-Fi to the company’s portfolio, combining MatSing’s lens antenna tech with their own Wi-Fi 7 access points. The solution divides something like a stadium into 16 separately servce RF sectors and leverages coverage from centralized overhead infrastructure. The first venue to get this treatment will be the Nissan Stadium of the Tennessee Titans starting next spring.

And Shentel is tapping some AI capabilities to improve its maintanence and outage coverage for customers. They will be using GOCare’s OutageIQ to better communicate with customers. Shentel operates Glo Fiber, its FTTx brand since 2019, and the upgraded capabilities will reach both their traditional customers and that newer infrastructure.
