A bit of M&A, a colo expansion, and two bits of FTTx expansion news:
There was some interesting inorganic activity in the data center markets of Brazil. I Squared Capital has announced a deal to acquire Elea Data Centers. Elea operates nine campuses with a presence in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília. They have 300MW of powered land and 1GW in development, for which they will need some $10B to complete. I Squared will certainly be able to help with that.
Hudson InterXchange has unveiled a new expansion of its footprint further at 60 Hudson Street in Manhattan. They have announced a new 1MW data hall to be ready for service and are planning to bring a second 1MW data hall online later this quarter. Beyond that they have a roadmap to push their total capacity at the iconic carrier hotel past 10MW.
Archtop Fiber has begun construction in a new upstate New York community. They are expanding into East Greenbush in the Hudson Valley. Archtop has been expanding across multiple communities in the region, having raised some $200M in funcing last spring. They are also building out in western Massachusetts.
And Brightspeed has updated us on its fiber buildout project in two more states, both of which are backed by substantial BEAD and ARPA funding. In Alabama they have completed 65% of their expansion, reaching 165K homes and businesses, with another 86K planned. And in Wisconsin they are at 30%, connecting 67K and targeting another 146K.
