SummitIG, Neutral Networks Team Up for Mexico Dark Fiber

September 5th, 2024 by · Leave a Comment

There is a new JV taking aim at the dark fiber market down in Mexico. SummitIG is teaming up with Neutral Networks to do something similar south of the border. The two have formed a joint venture called SierraIG that will focus first on connectivity within and between Querétaro and Monterrey.

SummitIG has built unique routes from northern Virginia down through Richmond to the landing stations at Virginia Beach, and also operates metro depth within Northern Virginia and over in Columbus OH. Neutral Networks operates fiber between Laredo TX and Monterrey as well as metro fiber hooking up key data centers with modern infrastructure.

Neutral Networks’ assets and SummitIG’s expertise in developing new infrastructure from the ground up will be the starting points for SierraIG. The JV will move to assemble a pure play option from Texas down to the data center destinations of Querétaro and beyond, looking to meet the growing needs of hyperscalers for modern infrastructure in the region.
