Three partnerships and a new division, all with an international connection.
Start Campus, the giant data center project underway in Sines, Portugal, has tapped Nautilus Data Technologies to help make its plans into reality. Nautilus’s EcoCore will be deployed to help with data hall cooling in phase 1 of the project, which should be ready this summer. The collaboration will support high-density liquid-cooled servers, and is expected to be part of phase 2 as well. When fully buildout, Start Campus will have some 495MW of capacity in place.
Also in Portugal, iBASIS and MEO have deepened their relationship. They have extended their existing outsourcing agreement, and iBASIS will open an IPS PoP at MEO’s new Linda-a-Velha data center. iBASIS is part of Tofane Global, while MEO is part of Altice Portugal Group.
Ericsson is looking to win a bigger slice of the government contract pie in the US. They have established Ericsson Federal Technologies Group, which will target modernization projects at state and federal agencies. Their 5G gear meets US government requirements including support for Open-RAN and equipment ‘Made in the USA’ or more specifically in Texas. Christopher Ling will lead EFTG’s efforts as CEO.
And EXA Infrastructure has teamed up with Telecom Egypt in a new partnership. The two will work together for intercontinental traffic via Telecom Egypt’s WeConnect platform. Telecom Egypt of course sits on top of 90% of traffic passing between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, and is adding new landing stations on boath coasts to go with diverse terrestrial routes. EXA will serve both the Europe and North American service provider markets with access to WeConnect.
