A couple of financial moves, some new optical gear, and a mobile launch in the MSO world:

Infinera has unveiled a new line of optical gear targeting the intra-data center business called ICE-D. The new indium phosphide PICs will support up to 1.6Tbps, driven by the requirements of AI workloads and other nextgen technology. According to Infinera, ICE-D test chips can reduce power per bit by as much as 75%.  Meanwhile, Infinera also won a contract with Australia’s National Broadband Network. NBN will use Infinera’s GX Series platform and ICE-X coherent pluggables to upgrade its national infrastructure.

EdgeCore has raised another bundle of money for refinancing with the help of its owners over at Partners Group. Following closely on their 1.9B debt financing a couple months ago, they have now completed a $440M debt financing to help fund their Silicon Valley buildout. The Santa Clara campus will support 72MW of critical load and span 540,000 square feet of space. Both debt transactions are structured as ‘Green Loans’.

BDx says it has acquired the Freehold of its SIN1 data center in Singapore. They raised $155M from DBS Bank and OCBC make it happen. What, you may ask, is a freehold? Basically, they bought the land rights, so they don’t have to lease it.  It’s just that Singapore’s system is a bit different when it comes to this sort of thing.

And Breezeline has made a major addition to its connectivity portfolio. They will be launching mobile services this spring across their 13-state footprint, making it available to their internet customers. The rollout will be done via an MVNO agreement with NCTC. Last year NCTC hammered out a deal with AT&T Wireless to create a white label service that its members can use to do this sort of thing.
