Some interesting news items from three global network service providers:

Arelion has lined up another customer down in Mexico, a market they have been investing heavily in. They will be providing IP services to Conexity, an IT and telecommunications provider based in Monterrey. Arelion now has 9 PoPs in Mexico connected by a diverse set of high capacity routes.

Hurricane Electric has found another corner of the globe to expand into. They have deployed their first point of presence in the South American nation of Chile. The new PoP is in the Ascenty SCL2 data center in Santiago, about 20km from the airport. It’s HE’s 8th PoP on the continent, with 5 of the others being in Brazil and 1 each in Colombia and Argentina.

And Colt Technology Services has been finding some success bringing SD-WAN technology from Versa Networks to market. They have now delivered 1000 such SD-WAN services across 55 countries since launching last April. By automating delivery they say provisioning services is down to some 12 seconds from 90 minutes. Colt closed the acquisition of Lumen’s EMEA business in November.
