Two data center expansion projects, a big bandwidth trial, and some SASE.

Infinera has completed a significant intercity trial of its ICE6 solution with Telstra Infraco. The trial succeeded in putting 61.3Tbps of unregenerated capacity on a single Corning SMF-28 ULL fiber pair over 1,240 route kilometers. Both the C-band and L-band were leveraged, with wavelengths up to 700Gbps and a latency of 6.2ms.

Novva Data Centers is moving into northwestern Nevada. The company says it will open a new facility in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center in along I-80 in Storey County outside of Reno. The project will add 300,000 square feet and 60MW of capacity to the company’s portfolio, complementing their existing and planned expansions in Colorado Springs CO, West Jordan UT, and North Las Vegas NV.

Spectrum Enterprise is adding more SASE to its portfolio. The enterprise division of Charter Communications said this week that it has added Cisco-powered secure access and cloud security capabilities to its managed network services. The new options will allow them to offer more comprehensive managed solutions to organizations in need of greater cybersecurity.

And Egypt will be getting some significant new data center infrastructure. Khazna Data Centers and Benya Group are teaming up for a new hyperscale data center joint venture. The data center will be built at the Maddi Technology Park in Cairo and will have a capacity of 25MW. They have dedicated $250M to the project.
