Multiple interesting deployments of infrastructure and software from around the world this week:
Arelion has provisioned a new PoP in the Czech Republic. They have extended their network into the DC Tower Data Centre in Prague. This is the flagship facility of regional provider Ceské Radiokomunikace, which is owned by Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Limited and which also has locations in Brno and Zlín.
Africa Data Centers says it has deployed a new DCIM solution with the help of TechAccess. The new platform leverages software from EkkoSense and Assetspire, and will be deployed at ADC’s two Johannesburg locations as well as its facilities in Cape Town, Nairobi, and Lagos. By implementing the latest DCIM technology, ADC hopes to find both savings and improved operations.
Macquarie Telecom Group has signed a deal with Horizon Power. The Western Australia energy provider will transition workloads to a private cloud environment provided by Macquarie, enabling cleaner operations and improved IoT support. Horizon serves some 44K customers over 2.6M square kilometers of territory.
Colt has tapped Amdocs to transform its core IT infrastructure. The two have signed a contract as part of Colt’s ongoing multi-year strategic transformation, with a focus on service delivery, engineering, and network operations. Colt will be leveraging the Amdocs Resource Manager as it seeks more automation overall.
And Telxius has boosted its DDoS mitigation capabilities. They have added two new scrubbing centers in Latin America: one in the west in in Lurín, Peru, and the other in the east in Santos, Brazil. Telxius operates substantial infrastructure in the region already of course, and recently announced the new Tikal project with America Movil between Florida and Guatemala.
