Thursday Roundup: 1547 CSR, Nokia, Lumen

September 1st, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

A data center expansion project, a new fiber backhaul project, and a significant new SASE effort:

1547 Critical Systems Realty has some big new plans in Pennsylvania. They have partnered with Green Fig Land Company to acquire over 100 acres of land in Chester County to the west of Philadelphia. The plans envision 2 million square feet of space and 150MW of power. If demand calls for it, adjacent land could support even more than that.  The site is in East Whiteland Township, north of West Chester and just past the end of the ‘Main Line’.

Nokia has won a contract to build a network through Upper Austria. Energie AG Oberösterreich has tapped the Finnish-based giant to build a backhaul network from 18 regional FTTH nodes in the region, which borders on the Czech Republic and the German region of Bavaria. The expansion gives Energie AG’s network some 6.4Tbps of aggregated traffic, with expansion room well above that.

Lumen has officially launched a new enterprise SASE effort. With a knowledge marketplace, a control center portal, and sales consultants on tap, they hope to better meet the needs of the enterprise marketplace when it comes to choosing the right SASE solution, having it implemented, and managing it over time.
