Oak Hill Launches Omni Fiber

July 26th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

The FTTH space continues to see new entrants sprouting up in underserved areas. Late last week out in the Midwest the latest effort took shape with the launch of Omni Fiber by Oak Hill Capital.

Oak Hill is putting $250M from its latest fund, Oak Hill Capital Partners VI, behind the new company. Those funds will go toward 2Gbps fiber projects in small and medium communities in the Midwest. Omni Fiber will be led by CEO Darrick Zucco, with Brian Ross as CFO, Steve Gable as COO, and Andres Tovar as CRO.

The company is based out of Cincinnati, and initial projects are planned within Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. According to the company’s website, construction is underway in Clyde OH, a town of 6,000 sitting between Cleveland and Toledo, with Dover OH and Shelby OH on deck.

Oak Hill has multiple FTTH investments in the marketplace at this point, including pieces of GoNetspeed, Race Communications, Greenlight Networks, Vexus Fiber, and MetroNet.  The latter two announced plans to merge earlier this year.
