Soda Takes On Australian Infrastructure

January 25th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

Bevan Slattery has launched yet another new venture aimed at digital infrastructure. Yesterday the Australian entrepreneur unveiled Soda, a new vehicle for powering the various projects he is backing across Australia.

Soda is taking aim at infrastructure investment, venture capital support for new startups and entrereneurs, and sustainability. On the investment side, Soda starts off already backing the Indigo and Oman Australia cable as well as HyperOne’s terrestrial fiber backbone. On the venture capital front they own a stake in FiberSense. And in terms of sustainability the company is backing Slattery’s project at Biopixel, which promotes the technological management and preservation of the Great Barrier Reef.

That’s the already existing things Slattery is putting under this new umbrella. For now, it’s mainly an organizational tool designed to unify the many directions his activities have taken him over the years.  But the real question will be what new projects Soda takes on in the future now that it has brought together those various resources.
