Wednesday Roundup: Vantage, NYIIX, ADVA, Ciena

Time to catch up on a few items before the long holiday weekend here in the USA. 

Vantage Data Centers is celebrating a milestone in its development project outside of Phoenix, Arizona. They have put the last steel beam in place on top of their Goodyear facility. When complete the new data center will offer 16MW of critical IT capacity, the first installment of a total of 160MW and 1M+ square feet on the campus.

TELEHOUSE says its NYIIX exchange has some new 100G connectivity. UPIX has boosted its connection to the internet exchange in the Big Apple from 10G up to 100G. UPIX’s footprint is based in Brazil, and connects with NYIIX at the carrier hotel at 60 Hudson.

ADVA has won a convert to its open optical transport solution. UK-based KCOM is deploying their FSP 3000 to upgrade infrastructure in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire to meet the capacity demands of bot the residential and business markets.

Ciena has picked up two customer wins for its WaveLogix 5 Extreme technology on the other side of the Atlantic. CityFibre is using their solution to power an 800Gbps backbone in the UK to connect six of its ‘super core’ sites.
And Telecom Egypt is deploying it on the MENA cable and on on its mesh network in Egypt. The MENA cable stretches from Italy to India with stops in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Oman along the way.
