There has been plenty of interesting stuff going on this week around the industry, time to catch up a bit:

Expereo has made a significant inorganic move over in Europe. They have acquired Comsave, a specialist in connectivity intelligence. Comsave’s e-commerce platform that automates sourcing and provisioning of last mile internet services across multiple providers. Expereo will fold those capabilities and the team behind them into its own platform.

Hurricane Electric is taking its network further down under. The global IPv6-native backbone operator has deployed a new PoP at NEXTDC’s P1 Perth data center. The facility is located in Malaga, 13km from downtown Perth on Australia’s southwest coast. It’s HE’s first node in Perth, and its fifth overall in Australia.

CenturyLink and SAP are expanding their global alliance into some new territory. The two have entered into an agreement that will get them into the major southeast Asian hub of Singapore. Customers will be able to leverage SAP solutions backed by CenturyLink’s network infrastructure and cloud connectivity.

Flexential has won some business from the R&D community supporting artificial intelligence. ASAPP has selected the company’s Philadelphia/Collegeville data center for high-density infrastructure and connectivity to all the major clouds. ASAPP’s supercomputers produce a lot of concentrated heat, requiring extensive cooling capabilities and an ability scale them quickly.

And Colt has expanded its on-demand capabilities in Asia. They are now offering IP Access over their SDN-powered platform across their Asian footprint, complementing their Ethernet and cloud connectivity capabilities. Colt’s global network hooks up 900 data centers and 29,000 on-net buildings around the world, and the company has been aggressively leveraging automation technologies over the past several years.
