Ok, time to catch up after traveling for the first half of the week.  Here’s a quick look at a few items I didn’t get to while on the road:

EdgePresence has hired itself a new CEO to help take its innovative model to market. Industry veteran Karen Sessions is taking the helm, joining President and Founder Doug Recker as the company moves to take its vision to a wider audience. EdgePresence is one of the new generation of micro data center providers, bringing a cost-efficient business model to market.  Karen most recently led Congressional and Public Affairs for the Millenium Challenge Corporation as VP, and worked with XG Communities in small cells after 26 years with Verizon.

NJFX gained a new tenant down on the Jersey Shore this week. DE-CIX has expanded its New York IX down to Wall and established a PoP at NJFX’s carrier landing station colo campus. The expansion provides opportunities for networks landing at the facility from Europe and South America to directly interconnect with the 220 networks now participating in DE-CIX-New York.

The engineering and construction firm Hylan is celebrating a birthday for its core division, Hylan Datacom & Electrical. They have now been out there supporting wireline, wireless, and smart city infrastructure for 60 years, having originally been founded back in 1960 on Staten Island. The company grew outward into new markets over the last couple years with the acquisitions of Down Under Construction, Western Utility, and Tetra Tech Utility Construction (now Hylan West).

And Hammer Fiber has announced a move down in the Caribbean. The company’s subsidiary Endstream Communications, which it acquired last year, has officially launched wholesale voice services in both Dominica and St. Vincent. The first phase brings voice termination services to the market, to be followed by others such as telephone numbers to residential and business customers.
