PacketFabric Raises $75M For Next Phase of Growth

August 27th, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

After a few years of rapid growth, PacketFabric has brought in some significant new funding and a new investor. Digital Alpha Advisors, LLC has put $75M into the pot via a joint venture investment. PacketFabric was formally launched back in January of 2017, and has quickly expanded its SDN-powered platform nationwide.

The upstart network and interconnection provider has its eye on demand for agile network connectivity up to and including 400Gbps Ethernet. They will also be using the resources to expand their relationship with Cisco, adding even more flexibility and scalability via the company’s SR-MPLS architecture. There are of course plenty of more markets and verticals left for the company to expand into as well.

As a result of the transaction, Digital Alpha Advisors will become the controlling investors, taking over from Nantworks. Two of the company’s partners, Rick Shrotri and Vasa Babic, will join PacketFabric’s board, but otherwise the company will continue down the same path it has been on, albeit with a bigger war chest.
